Calm in the room. Steady in the storm.

My background in emergency medicine allows me to remain calm, observant, and steady in dynamic environments. Families receive nurturing support paired with thoughtful awareness, so they feel both cared for and confidently supported throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

What sets Gentle Roots apart

A doula with the training to stay calm when it matters most

Most doulas bring warmth and compassion. So do I. But I also bring something none of my peers in NW Arkansas can offer: a foundation in emergency medicine that means I never panic, never freeze, and always know what to watch for.

That means the nervous first-time dad feels safe. The mother who had a traumatic first birth feels protected. And the family who wants both nurturing support and clinical awareness gets exactly that.

Gentle Roots Birth Care provides non-medical emotional, physical, and educational support. All medical care and decisions remain with you and your licensed providers. I complement your care team with presence, advocacy, and an unshakeable calm.

Questions we hear most

A doula provides non-medical emotional, physical, and educational support during pregnancy, labor, birth, and the postpartum period. I don't replace your medical team. I complement them by helping you feel informed, supported, and confident throughout your entire experience.

Absolutely. I support the full range of birth experiences: medicated, unmedicated, planned cesarean, and cesarean recovery. Your birth, your choices. I'm here for all of it.

Many families reach out in the second trimester, which gives us time to build a relationship and prepare together. But postpartum support can be arranged during pregnancy or even after birth. The best time is whenever you're ready.

Doula services are typically self-pay. Insurance and Medicaid reimbursement options in Arkansas are evolving, and I'll keep clients updated as credentialing opportunities become available.

My background in emergency medicine gives me a clinical awareness that most doulas don't have. I stay calm and observant in high-pressure moments while still providing the warmth and nurturing support you deserve. I also offer CPR and infant safety training taught by real paramedics, which is unique in the NWA doula market.

You don't have to do this alone.

Whether you're planning your first birth or your fourth, whether you're feeling excited or terrified (or both), you deserve someone in your corner who is calm, prepared, and completely focused on you.
